To get an overview of funding information and resources available to artists of all types, start by reading our Knowledge Base article Where can I find grants for individual artists?

According to artist coach Gigi Rosenberg's where to find writing grants, you should start your search small and local by investigating grant opportunities in your own town, region and state. Peruse the web sites of your town’s art council and your state’s arts commission. To help guide your efforts, visit the web site of the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, which provides links to arts agencies in all 50 states and a range of helpful publications.

Below are selected resources for writers, some of which are recommended by Rosenberg in her article.
