Should fundraisers be paid a fixed fee or a percentage of the money raised?
A:

There is no lack of heated debate on the topic of compensation for fundraising consultants. Despite the fact that professional consultant associations have called payment by percentage unethical, the practice is growing.

The Foundation Center cannot recommend what is best for your organization or situation. However, the resources below represent both sides of this issue, so that you can decide for yourself.
